Caring for the Community
At the Quan Yin Healing Centre (QYHC) we aim to be a socially responsible business by giving back to the community wherever we can, as well as being inclusive and welcoming of people from all walks of life.
What are we doing to make a difference?* The Quan Yin Healing Centre is proudly a "Turn The Tables" partner with the Mama Lana's Community Foundation (MLCF). This means that we have committed to providing funding for the next three years towards permanent premises in Penrith to continue their amazing work.
The Mama Lana's Comunity Foundation provide hot meals for the homeless and disadvantaged in our community six nights a week, as well as operate a drop in service where people can have a hot shower, get some new clothes, blankets and food, as well as connect with various services. Every time you support our clinic, you are also supporting the MLCF. You can learn more about the MLCF here and Angie's reasons for choosing this charity to support here. * Our manager and acupuncturist, Angie Savva, is also a partner with the local not-for-profit organisation Cancer Wellness Support. Together they provide heavily discounted and subsidised acupuncture treatments to people with cancer in the community. You can learn more about this program here. * The Quan Yin Healing Centre is officially be a safe, welcoming space for the LGBTIQ community. We are inclusive of all members of our community and provide a nurturing space for everyone. You can read more about the "Welcome Here" program here. * The Quan Yin Healing Centre is also a safe and welcoming space for breastfeeding mothers. The clinic is listed as a breastfeeding friendly venue in partnership with the Australian Breastfeeding Association, and we are supportive of their aim to increase acceptability of breastfeeding in the community. You can find other participating breastfeeding spaces here. Socially responsible businesses are the the way of the future. If you have any suggestions as to how we can make our clinic more inclusive or if we can serve the community in better ways, please do let us know! |
